Job Purpose/Objectives

  • To oversee the treasury operations in Nigeria including cash and liquidity management, financial risk mitigation and banking relationships.
  • To optimise our Treasury function, supporting our financial objectives and business growth.

 

Job & Main Specifications (Education/Knowledge, Skills, Attributes, Experience & Other Required Details)

  • University degree in Accounting or any Finance related discipline.
  • Relevant postgraduate/professional qualifications (ICAN, ACA, ACCA, CIMA etc.).
  • Minimum of 15 years’ experience within a treasury function, out of which 5 years must be in a leadership role, preferably with an upstream Oil and Gas operator.
  • Strong relationship, interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Able to build and leverage strong relationships with the various banks and lenders alike to the benefit of the Company.
  • Experience of debt refinancing and debt covenant reporting.
  • Vast understanding of capital planning, optimising financial resources and maintaining strong liquidity
  • and short-term cash flow forecasting.
  • Strong analytical, business acumen, leadership, negotiation and persuading skills.
  • Results oriented with high level of attention to details.
  • Strong business ethics and high level of integrity.
  • Able to lead and build a high performing team.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Key member of the Head of Finance leadership team and interfacing with different disciplines across the business.
  • Responsible for the company’s treasury operations and provides advice on international financing issues related to acquisitions, new ventures and divestitures.
  • Monitor local debt / bonds facilities and associated reporting requirements to ensure full compliance.
  • Develop and maintain healthy and productive relationships with banks and other funding sources to secure the most favourable terms for the business.
  • Conduct risk assessments related to foreign exchange, interest rates, and commodity pricing.
  • Proactively manage cash flow forecasting and liquidity management to ensure sufficient funds for operational needs.
  • Develop strategies for optimising working capital, including receivables and payables management.
  • Ensure all treasury activities comply with CBN regulations, FIRS requirements, and company policy.
  • Maintain awareness of changes in financial regulations and proactively adjust operations accordingly.
  • Prepare periodic treasury reports and present to Head of Finance.
  • Support the Head of Finance on achieving Finance objectives.
